"Nufarm NZ have used the services of Evatech for many years now. Bruce Evans has a wide range of skills which we have found most useful as compliance demands have increased. He has trained both our factory staff and our experienced field and sales staff to appropriate Approved Handler status. Bruce has also been involved in securing and renewing our HSNO Location Certificates for our Otahuhu and Christchurch sites and assisting us with our Stationary Container Certification for all our bulk and process tanks. Safe Property and Premises:
There are many Government and Local Body Agencies who have an impact on the compliance requirements for companies who manufacture or distribute chemicals from fixed premises.
There is a complicated matrix of Local Body Consents and Resource Management Act [RMA] requirements to satisfy as well as HSNO Regulations.
Evatech provides a comprehensive on site assessment, advice and consultancy role in providing the best way to achieve compliance with minimal cost.
Evatech has successfully achieved Local Body and RMA consents for chemical manufacturers and retail operations.
Issuing HSNO Location Test Certificates for chemical manufacturing and distribution sites is also a core service for Evatech. Issuing of Stationary Container System Certificates for on site bulk tanks and boilers or burners is also a service being added by Evatech.
Property services include:
- Site inspections
- Design of segregation systems
- Containment or bunding plans and solutions
- Emergency Response Plans
- Site Auditing
Safe Personnel:
The HSE Act 1992 and Amendments. [Health Safety & Employment Act] sometimes mistakenly termed the OSH Act. The agency responsible for administration, advice and compliance is the Department of Labour .
Many large multi-national chemical companies utilise Evatech to train their own staff using ‘in-house’ staff training standards which are often additional to the HSE Act.
The HSNO Act 1996 also carries some personnel compliance requirements. The agency responsible for administration, advice and compliance is the Environmental Risk Management Authority [ERMA].
Ph. 0800 376234.

The Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 (HSE) is closely connected with the HSNO Act because hazardous substances are often found in the workplace. Controls set under the HSNO Act will be consistent with the requirements under the HSE Act to avoid, isolate and minimise any hazard in the work place. Significant additions to the HSE act were enacted in May 2003; these require employers to consult more fully with their employees.
Personnel training tailored for each individual chemical manufacturing or handling business is a specialisation of Evatech. Bruce has had many years of training staff in safe chemical handling. Both large and small companies use him. Testimonials from Dow, Nufarm and Farmlands are available.
Approved Handler training for chemical suppliers is a core service for Evatech as is the provision of Controlled Substance Licences [CSL’s] for Vertebrate toxins [VTA’s].
